After product-market fit, a game team must continually answer the question: "what is the most important feature or initiative to work on next?"

Each time we face this question, due diligence can be VERY high-ROI. The right answer keeps us from burning 6 months on dead-weight features with no material benefit.

Surprisingly, my experience (across many games) is that likely ~HALF of features fall into the "dead-weight" category.

Do you agree?

And, if so, why? Are we bad at due diligence, or just too eager to get back to building the next thing?
